Feel fab on date night: the outfits we’re wearing next
We love any reason to play with a new look, and yes an upcoming date sends us into thoughts of dress shopping and treating ourselves to a fab statement earring or new accessories.
Got a special invitation, or planning something sweet with your long-term love interest? We’ve shared some of our fave outfit ideas we want to take out for a spin on our next date – and whether it’s an outdoorsy affair, a sunny weekend brunch or flirty dinner date, we’ve also let you in on some of our go-to date destinations in Singapore we think you’ll love too.
WHAT TO WEAR TO WEEKEND BRUNCH
Singapore has no shortage of gorgeous spots for a languid brunch: surrounded by greenery in Dempsey, waterside, or even with your feet in the sand in Sentosa.
The day dress
We’re constantly reaching for a midi dress when it comes to the weekend. Problem is, which one? We love a classic linen midi like Staple the Label’s Sloane belted dress pictured above, or a mini that has a bit of volume for ladylike vibes. For a bit of edge, we’re loving dresses with cut-out details – sometimes at the waist, just under the bust line or as a beautiful detail at the back of a dress.
We love the MINKPINK Essaouira mini dress for its puff sleeves and peekaboo cut out detail |
The romper
One and done. We're fans of the romper for brunch dates – and besides, they're cute AF.

The wrap skirt
Right now, we’re rediscovering our love for the wrap skirt – local brand Vine and Branches is known for its versatile Naomi wrap skirt, which comes in gorgeous prints and is ultra-flattering on all body types. And there’s something extra about a wrap skirt with a feminine frill – see the latest ruffled wrap skirts by Nala Designs and wrap midi skirts by MINKPINK and you’ll know what we’re talking about.

Where to go on a weekend brunch date:
The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar: One of the prettiest dining spots on the island, with an impressive 3-course brunch menu (hello lobster roll!) and free-flow Champagne o’clock.
PS. Cafe East Coast: Brunch plus beach couldn’t be a more perfect combination. Chances of bumping into us here are high.
Empress: For a waterside dumpling date, and a wander through the Asian Civilisations Museum afterwards. Excellent options if you or your date are vegetarian.
WHAT TO WEAR ON A CASUAL DATE
Cafe-hopping couple? Going street-art spotting around Singapore? Or is a quick bite and movie night more your thing? We’re all for showing off your personality and style, no matter where you go.
The cute shorts and top
This is one of our go-to outfits, and the patterned tailored shorts by Nala Designs are giving us life – but this bustier top by Nala paired with a paperbag-waist linen short is possibly our favourite outfit right now. Are you with us?

The fun printed robe
We love the contrast of cute shorts with a maxi-length robe thrown over for loads of colourful personality. Our floaty rayon robes are stunners – but they go quick, so visit us to see our latest collection.

Where to go on a casual date in Singapore:
Cafe-hopping in Joo Chiat: because it’s our neighbourhood, and there are so many amazing options right now. Great coffee at Homeground Coffee Roasters, record browsing and hot dawgs at Choice Cuts, or an epic breakfast at Common Man.
Pastries at Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari: glamping vibes meets croissants? It works!
Casual evening bite: Sourdough pizza and a glass of natural wine at Drunken Farmer is what we’d pick for a pre-movie dinner or no-pressure night out.
WHAT TO WEAR ON AN OUTDOORSY DATE
So you’re going on an adventurous day out together but want to keep your sense of style? We're with you...
The perfect shorts
If full-on active wear for a bike ride or hike isn’t your thing, try our go-to for a day out in sunny Singapore: linen shorts. Staple the Label and MINKPINK regularly serve up timeless styles, or, if you want to stay on the fun side, we’re into the tropical prints Indii Breeze features in its collection of super light and comfortable drawstring shorts.

The sun dress
If you’re taking it easy with a picnic, a flowy sundress always feels good. We’re into this paisley print beauty by MINKPINK, in the sunniest hue. And because we like to go all in with the theme, we’re taking a basket bag – or one of our WYLD Shop faves of the moment: the multi-way picnic bag that opens up into a mini mat!

Beach or poolside vibes
If your idea of a day in the great outdoors is lounging poolside or at a beach club, we like your style. For this kind of date, we’re loving a linen co-ord set over a chic one piece by HÁI swimwear.

Where to go on a date outdoors in Singapore:
Singapore Botanic Gardens – for a stroll and picnic (or brunch at the gorgeous Halia restaurant)
MacRitchie Reservoir – for an energising walk along the nature trail, and a dose of forest bathing (yes, it’s possible in Singapore!)
Tanjong Beach Club – still counts as outdoors, right?
WHAT TO WEAR ON A DINNER DATE
We have two rules for fab dinner date outfits:
1: Wear something you can breathe in
2: Accessories, accessories, accessories
The maxi dress
We’re all for living life to the full and enjoying the moment – no space in our lives for a date outfit that involves pulling things down or sucking things in, especially during dinner. The maxi dress is always in style: we’re obsessed with the printed maxis by Nala Designs and Indii Breeze, tiered maxis by MINKPINK and cool kaftans by Roses and Rhinos.

The wrap dress (or the wrap top)
The wrap is often hailed as the most universally flattering dress style thanks to its ability to accentuate the waist – creating a slimming effect, or accentuating curves in the best way possible, depending on your body type. Also see the wrap top for similar effect – we're fans of these styles as the v-neckline helps show off our necklace collection!
The statement pants
It doesn’t always have to be about the dress for dinner. We love the modern jogger, which has all the perks of a relaxed fit and ruched waistband, but in a lightweight fabric and amazing print the effect is date-worthy chic. MINKPINK is ticking all our boxes with this version:

The wide-leg is also back in a big way, and we say YES you can rock palazzo pants even if you’re petite. Can you add a vibrant pattern too? Of course you can.

Where to go on a dinner date in Singapore:
Asador: What can we say – we’re biased towards Joo Chiat – but this seriously good Spanish restaurant has big flavours served with finesse.
Open Farm Community: This garden restaurant is one of the most atmospheric – and delicious – spots for dinner in Singapore, hands down.
Artichoke: An amazing middle-Eastern-ish menu without the attitude or inflated bill. There’s a reason why Artichoke has been our fave for years.
WHAT TO WEAR ON A COCKTAIL DATE
The jumpsuit
The one-piece trend has been going strong for years, with no signs of quitting. We’re devotees to a chic jumpsuit.
When you want to be a standout: the Semolina jumpsuit by Minor Miracles |
The stunning printed robe
This is another reason we love our collection of gorgeous patterned robes – they’re equally amazing on a casual cafe date or chilling at home together over cute shorts and a top… or out for swish cocktails over a silk slip dress.
The LBD + statement jewellery
When in doubt, a black dress is always a good idea. Whether your LBD is fitted or floaty, do it your way. Just don't forget that your perfect black dress enhances the effect of statement earrings and necklaces – your amazing jewellery deserves to go out for a spin!
Black dress + statement jewellery by Boheme is a killer combination for a cocktail date. |
Where to go on a cocktail date:
Employees Only: Killer cocktails. Go early so you can hear each other talk: you’ll know it’s a good date if you end up singing along to 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' with everyone else in the room, or decide to get a palm reading together for kicks.
Atlas: For a completely different vibe, the art deco themed, velvet-clad Atlas in Parkview Square (otherwise known as Singapore’s ‘Gotham’ building, is a stunner. The signature G&Ts are sublime.
Gibson Bar: We’re fans of the freshly shucked oysters and clever cocktails at this sophisticated little bar on Bukit Pasoh Road. And the service is always on point.
