Three women try the same style of dress: did they love it?
We ain’t gonna lie: we’re famous for our colourful collection of dresses, from independent and local labels — and in the most fab patterns and prints. We love the way a great dress can make our customers feel uplifted, and if you’re a regular in our little boutique in Joo Chiat you’ll already know we have a damn good time helping women find their next fave dress.
We always want women to feel confident in their bodies and to own their style — and part of that is challenging what you think will suit you. So we decided to spend a day with some of our fave customers Sarah, Joy and Shereen to show us all how similar dresses can work across different body types, and open up more possibilities than your go-to styles. “
We dressed them up in some of our new arrivals, in variations of three key dress styles:
- The maxi dress
- The wrap dress
- The tiered dress
We chose these styles to break any preconceived notions that a particular style of dress doesn’t suit a particular body type. “We wanted to showcase the same style on different shapes to demonstrate that these styles can be suitable on anyone — and that sometimes you just have to be open to experimenting and trying new silhouettes,” says WYLD boss and stylist, Kara.
Our mission? “We wanted to make our ladies feel at ease with themselves, even though they were all outside their comfort zones," says Kara. "We were surprised at just how nervous they were at first, but loved how much they enjoyed the process and how much they loved their looks!”
In true WYLD style, any nerves soon turned to laughs over stories of debaucherous weekends, gyrating to music (we’re looking at you, KB) and having a great time in front of the camera. Our fave moment? “ Seeing the girls really stepping into their moment,” says Kara. “When they saw themselves in a different way on camera, felt good and liked what they saw, this is what we’re all about.”

Sarah is a wife and mum to two kids ages 13 and 7 who loves going out for lunches, hiking and baking.
How do you describe your style?
Sporty. You’re most likely to find me in something active during the day, but I do love to dress up for lunch and going out.
If we bumped into you walking down the street, what would you be wearing?
Activewear! Probably Lululemon.

An Indii Breeze maxi with some nice accessories and some flats. Or my frilled dress by Lipsy with heels — it depends if it’s date night or ladies’ night!

They’re all so versatile and can be worn during the day or dressed up for the evening. And they were comfortable!

Patterns, loud accessories and animal prints. But I love something I can be comfy and active in.

A pantsuit or playsuit with heels and earrings.
